The Book Project is a student-led initiative that is dedicated to collecting donated books from the community for children and families, to further promote literacy and creativity in youth. Through book drives, fundraising, and organizing illustration and creative writing contests, this project hopes to create opportunities for children of all financial backgrounds. We hope to help every young person discover the joy of reading and the power of their own voice.
Edie is currently in grade 10 at Claremont Secondary School in Victoria. She is a competitive swimmer and distance runner. In her free time, Edie enjoys reading, writing, going for walks, and hanging out with her friends. Growing up, she was surrounded by books and stories; they were a way to connect with friends, a way to escape, and a way to learn. As the co-founder of The Book Project, Edie hopes she can help share her love of books and literacy with all youth.
